Arabian Horses Star in Rose Bowl Parade – Ride along with Cindy Reid and Katie Russell
Arabian Horse World magazine brings you another in our series of podcasts. Today, AHW’s Cindy Reich talks with two ladies – Cindy Reid, a USEF Steward and Technical Delegate, who is a familiar face at Arabian shows in those capacities, and Katie Russell, a multi-National winner in several amateur divisions. They were lucky enough to ride in the 2020 Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena on New Year’s Day as part of the Arabian breed entry. Katie rode her National Champion Half-Arabian Western Pleasure Futurity gelding Tuff Act To Follow (by Saladins Allon) aka “Tuffy,” and Cindy Reid, who hadn’t ridden a horse in 15 years, rode the purebred National Champion Country English Pleasure AAOTR Afires Guns Nroses (Afire Bey V x HL Glitter Ngold).
The Arabian breed group included several Arabians in western, hunter, native costume, dressage, and sport horse tack, and even a driving horse. All of them did our breed proud, never putting a foot wrong. With millions of viewers, the parade was great promotion for the Arabian breed.
