As featured in the Fall 2024 issue of Arabian Horse World
Fall, a season renowned for its beauty, provides an opportunity for reflection on our past endeavors and future aspirations. Engaged in the Arabian horse industry as breeders and exhibitors, Allyssa and I recognize the excitement that this time of year brings.
Looking back on 2024, we celebrate the achievements leading up to the culmination of our show season. Horses bred in previous years have been actively competing, aiming for the prestigious title of US National Champion at the forthcoming US Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Whether they are participating in halter, sorting cattle, trotting level down the rail or elegantly jogging through the gate, the dedication and effort invested in nurturing our horses has been substantial, yielding gratifying results.
Concurrently, the arrival of foals this year has us eagerly anticipating their development as future show horses in 2025. Witnessing their growth from birth to weaning, and later their introduction to the show barn, fills us with anticipation as we observe their potential unfold. While focusing on the significance of weanlings during this period, equal attention is devoted to our two-year-olds as they are introduced to tack and their riding capabilities are explored. The journey from selecting the ideal breeding matches to witnessing the birth and guiding them through their early years is a rewarding process that culminates with the realization of our breeding visions.
Irrespective of the direction we gaze, whether forward or backward, our hearts are filled with gratitude, anticipation, and pride. Together, we shape the destiny of the Arabian horse, uniting breeders, owners, and exhibitors in a shared commitment to the breed’s future.
In a time that the future should be our industry’s focal point, let us unite in spreading the sheer delight of the Arabian horse with our circles of friends, families, and the wider world.
With gratitude,
Ally & Allyssa
