As featured in the Winter 2025 issue of Arabian Horse World
After a year-long hiatus, the World Arabian Horse Championship returned from Doha to the French capital on the Seine. It also returned to the Porte de Versailles exhibition and trade fair centre, which, unlike the Parc des Expositions, de Villepinte is not in the suburbs, making it much easier to reach. Located in the 15th Arrondissement, Porte de Versailles is also close to the Eiffel Tower, the Hôtel des Invalides with the Tomb of Napoléon, and Montparnasse, a hipster neighborhood with countless tiny bars where you can meet the locals and experience first-hand the spirit of Parisian bohème, sampling wine or craft beer.
For many, Paris is the city of love, for others one of the fashion capitals of the world, many consider it a capital of art and culture – for us, it’s where the crowning Arabian horse event of the year takes place, where one can once more be entranced with some of the most majestic Arabians the world has seen.
It was no different last December:

Gold Champion Senior Mare AJ Kayya. She is sired by AJ Kafu, out of AJA Caprice and is owned and bred by Ajman Stud.
It’s impossible to follow what’s happening in the world of purebred horses without knowing these names! And before each championship, dragoons of the French Republican Guard in festive uniforms would play a special fanfare, lighting the fuse of excitement.
More in store
2025 promises to be quite thrilling. We’ll go to new shows in Europe and the Americas, see more unforgettable horses, and celebrate their beauty among like-minded friends. The crowning event of the year will take place in Doha, combining the GCAT Supreme finale with the World Championship. Plenty to look forward to.
