“Arabian horses are so magical to be around. They are kind and highly intelligent, just a joy to be with.” That’s 15-year-old Brooke Landon, who spends every chance she gets enjoying her Arabian horses.
Once a deep-rooted passion for breeding and tending to Arabian horses takes hold, it can stay with you for the rest of your life. And because life is always in session on many fronts there can be a few sabbaticals along the way.
So how to describe this year’s Region 12 Classic Egyptian Championships? Well, the beautiful World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida, celebrates horses from the moment you drive through the front gates, and we are so fortunate to be there each year.
The Arabian’s head is a defining characteristic of the breed. Show clipping is a practice that is used in the horse world to highlight the definition and refinement of a horse’s face.
Foaling season is still going strong – at least out here in the West. Although show and race breeders want early foals, most breeders are content to have them born when the weather and the grass are most advantageous for outdoor foaling.
